Our Board

Helen chairs Kawerau and Districts Ageing in Place (KADAP) Inc and is one of its founding members. Interested in governance and community development, she has been active in the voluntary sector and involved with not for profit/for purpose organisations across the wider Bay of Plenty. Helen is excited that 2025 will mark 10 years since KADAP was established as a separate legal entity.

Dave emigrated from Scotland in 1981 to be part of the maintenance team at Tasman for 24 years. He joined Fonterra Edgecumbe in 2005 as Engineering Maintenance Manager and retired in September 2022. In 2023 he joined KADAP and became a board member. Dave is married, has two sons and two granddaughters. 

Bill is a foundation member of KADAP. He was one of a small group who first mooted the idea to create of an organisation in Kawerau to provide voluntary assistance and support to its aged members who were in need.  A retired HR executive from the old Tasman Pulp & Paper mill, he has lived in Kawerau for 50 years. Since retirement, he been involved in in a number of groups in Kawerau over those years and has been a Board member of KADAP for the past 10 years

I have lived in Kawerau for 53 years.My working life consisted of 14 years at the Kawerau Maternity Hospital-now Mountain View- and the 32 years as a practice nurse at the Tarawera Medical Centre.I enjoyed travel-visiting many interesting places including “woofing” in a Tuscan Vinyard three consecutive years. Travel on 2 wheels is another joy-my mad mountain biking days have passed but road riding is still possible. For 10 consecutive years I organised a relay team From my work colleagues, to ride the Taupo challenge-each rider doing 40kms around Lake Taupo.Gardening is a pleasure,also watching all the different birds in the large trees in my garden. To help our people stay in their homes that are full of memories is a wonderful thing and KADAP is committed to doing this and has succeeded the past 10 years.
